S2: Managing Stressful Situations
At the start of the session, secondary 2 youths were given a list of options to select the situation that causes them the most stress via Zoom poll, and majority chose "Term 2 exam period starting, along with SYF / CCA competitions".
We shared the glitter jar metaphor to explain how youths could accumulate emotional stress throughout their day with the snow globe as a reference, and how we should deal with it by using the ABC strategy (Aware-Breathe-Control).
Lastly, the youths were introduced to the strategy of Awareness, Analysis, and Choice to manage stressful situations and turn it into the outcome they would desire.
